Constitutional Ban on Gay Marriage and Civil Unions

The thought process behind the focus and dedication of our legislature to this issue must be: with all of the campaign scandals, the routine corporate handouts, and the heavy attacks on local schools and governments, we (the legislature) can cover up the fact that we don't do anything productive for the people, simply by ignoring all of the important, pressing issues and instead focusing on a popular, poll-friendly palaver that is laden with hate, anger, and persecution.
